1994年发行的《The Division Bell》是PINK FLOYD的后WATERS时代的第二张专辑。与前一张的《A Momentary Lapse of Reason》相比，可圈可点之处多了不少。丰富的内涵，精彩的演奏，使乐队在美国和英国的主流音乐界获得广泛的好评。在内容上，它依旧保持着原来的神秘的及对未来的空想，对于身处这个自我毁灭式的世界里的那些为和平与超度而努力奋斗的无家可归者而提出了一种典型的对于人生予以讽刺的观点。专辑在各大排行榜上均长时间占据第一，更为重要的是，它以David Gilmour的一曲Guitar Solo——《Marooned》赢得了1995年Grammy的最佳摇滚演奏奖，这样的荣誉，即使是在乐队鼎盛的Syd Barrett时代和Roger Waters时代也没有得到过。不过，许多老PINK FLOYD的歌迷们却在此张专辑出版前就保持低调，而且，客观得讲，专辑的质量的确在他们的预料之中。或许一个普通的乐队做出这样的音乐，立刻便会红遍天下；但PINK FLOYD做出这样的专辑，只说明一个问题：这是他们最后的华尔兹。专辑中大量模仿属于70年代的音乐元素，许多歌曲都是《Dark Side Of Moon》和《The Wall》的翻版。说句不好听的，整张专辑充斥着抄袭。专辑的标题到内页的插图直至在大多数歌词中频繁出现的“I-you”这类代名词，基本是与分裂和特权有关，而 "I" 基本上是表示举手同意。就其整个音乐而言，Gilmour, Nick Mason 和 Wright 又转回到先前的 Dark Side of the Moon 时代的 Floyd —— 极为和缓的旋律，强有力的键盘和弦支持，再加上吉他独奏所组成的一系列和声。整张专辑唯一的亮点也只是在于Gilmour的个人表演。专辑的标题：表决钟声，预示着表决后的分化瓦解，正预示着Waters和Gilmour的矛盾激化，也预示着PINK FLOYD是选择继续存在，还是退出舞台。甚至专辑的封面，两尊南美风格的石像的互相对视，也是PINK FLOYD矛盾加剧的体现。
